About Michael Millerman

Dr. Michael Millerman teaches political philosophy through the Millerman School, which he built after what he describes as an academic cancellation, because he wanted to keep teaching. He holds a PhD in political science from the University of Toronto and is the author of Beginning with Heidegger: Strauss, Rorty, Derrida, Dugin and the Philosophical Constitution of the Political.

The school offers book-length video courses, close readings of primary texts that include Plato’s Republic and Aristotle’s Politics cover to cover, Plato’s Laws, and several courses each on Heidegger and Leo Strauss. He also runs small online seminars and private study, teaches for free on YouTube, and publishes books and a Substack. Strauss is central to his work: he named his first son after him and says that without Strauss there would be no Millerman School.
