American Vigor
Few men in American history embody energy, courage, and active citizenship like Theodore Roosevelt. He was a sickly boy who built himself into a soldier, statesman, naturalist, and explorer through sheer force of will. He was a man who preached and lived the strenuous life.
The Bull Moose Symposium uses a curated selection of Roosevelt’s writings and speeches as tools for personal reflection and conversation. We will examine how a man who refused the easy path of comfort came to define an age, and what his philosophy of action still demands of us.
“Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure, than to take rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much.”

What Men Say
of the Meriwether Table
Consistently some of the most profound, thoughtful, and intentional events I’ve ever attended. Highly recommend Meriwether to anyone interested in education, philosophy, and values.
Greatly enjoyed lectures and study club at Meriwether. Highly recommend to any man looking for a community of others on a path of improvement to achieve greater in life. Amazing camaraderie and lifelong connections.
Meriwether Academy represents a real-world attempt to define and restore traditional values, especially traditional American values. As such, Meriwether is fighting the good fight and doing a good job of it! Highly recommended.
This symposium took place on July 11, 2026. Join the Meriwether Weekly to hear about upcoming dinners, lectures, and expeditions before they fill.
