This notice explains what the Meriwether Academy member portal and the Meriwether Academy app collect, why, and the choices you have. Meriwether Academy, Inc. is a nonprofit in Nashville, Tennessee.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only in encrypted form).
- Profile details you choose to add: photo, profession, city, a short bio and social links. These appear to other members.
- What you post: discussion posts, replies, messages to other members, essays you submit, notes and quiz results in the Study Club.
- Event activity: the events you reserve. Ticket payments are processed by our event provider; we never see your card number.
- Device details for notifications: if you allow notifications in the app, a notification token for your device.
- Basic usage: sign-in times and the pages you open, kept to keep the service secure and working.
How we use it
We use this information only to run the member portal: to show your card on the Membership Roll, deliver messages and notifications you have asked for, manage event reservations, and send the Academy’s emails you keep switched on. We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising or tracking across other companies’ apps and websites.
Who can see it
Your profile and posts are visible to signed-in members only. Messages are visible to you, the members you write to, and the Academy’s administrators when they review a report. Our service providers (website hosting, email delivery, event registration and app notifications) process information on our behalf.
Your choices
- Edit or remove profile details at any time.
- Choose which emails and notifications reach you in Settings, or turn notifications off on your device.
- Delete your account and its posts at any time from My Desk. Deletion is permanent.
